Our Story

How We Got Here

Every love story is a collection of small moments. Here are ours — told from two perspectives, because we remember things a little differently (and that's the fun part).

From a chance first meeting to a golden-hour proposal by the Potomac, our journey has been filled with laughter, adventure, and the kind of quiet certainty that makes you know you've found your person.

  1. The First Meeting

Where it all began — a chance encounter that neither of us saw coming.

    His Version

I noticed her smile before I noticed anything else in the room.

    Her Version

He was reading a book I had just finished — instant conversation starter.

  2. The First Date

Coffee turned into dinner, dinner turned into a walk, and the walk turned into hours we didn't want to end.

    His Version

I was nervous enough to reorder the same appetizer twice. She pretended not to notice.

    Her Version

He talked about his favorite films for twenty minutes. I was already planning date two.

  3. Houston, Texas

Exploring the local culinary scene and visiting the Space Center.

    His Version

I may have planned the whole trip around the Space Center. No regrets.

    Her Version

He geeked out over rockets for an hour. I geeked out over the barbecue for the rest of the weekend.

  4. San Francisco, California

Cable cars, sourdough, and getting lost in the Mission.

    Two sides of the story

    His Version

We rode the cable car like tourists and owned it completely.

    Her Version

Getting lost in the Mission was the best part — every corner had something new to try.

  5. San Jose, California

Sun-drenched afternoons and the quiet side of Silicon Valley.

    His Version

It was nice to slow down somewhere that never seems to.

    Her Version

We found a bench in the sun and talked until the light changed.

  6. Richmond, Virginia

River walks, hidden coffee shops, and a city that feels like a secret worth keeping.

    Two sides of the story

    His Version

I kept saying we'd find the best coffee shop. We found three.

    Her Version

Richmond felt like a place we'd discovered together — just ours for the weekend.

  7. Maryland Renaissance Festival

Turkey legs, corsets, and pretending we were born in the wrong century for a day.

    His Version

I bought a ridiculous hat and wore it with zero shame.

    Her Version

He looked at home in the sixteenth century. I have the photos to prove it.

  8. New York, New York

Late-night slices, Central Park strolls, and a skyline that never gets old.

    Two sides of the story

    His Version

We walked until our feet gave out, then ordered one more slice anyway.

    Her Version

The city was loud and bright and perfect — we stayed up way too late on purpose.

  9. Hanoi, Vietnam

Wandering the Old Quarter at dawn and sharing bowls of pho on tiny plastic stools.

    His Version

The Old Quarter at dawn was worth every early alarm.

    Her Version

Sitting on those tiny stools, sharing one bowl — that's when I knew this trip would stick with us.

  10. Da Nang, Vietnam

Golden beaches, dragon bridge at night, and the best banh mi of the whole trip.

    His Version

The dragon bridge at night looked like something out of a dream.

    Her Version

I still think about that banh mi. He thinks about the beach. We were both right.

  11. Saigon, Vietnam

Motorbike chaos, rooftop sunsets, and coffee so strong it could wake the dead.

    His Version

Crossing the street felt like a sport. We got good at it by day two.

    Her Version

Rooftop coffee at sunset — the city buzzing below us — I didn't want to come down.

  12. Rome, Italy

Throwing coins in the Trevi Fountain and getting lost on purpose in Trastevere.

    Two sides of the story

    His Version

I threw a coin in the fountain. She said that means we're coming back.

    Her Version

Getting lost in Trastevere wasn't an accident. Best decision we made all trip.

  13. Greece

Whitewashed cliffs, endless blue water, and a sunset that made us forget to take photos.

    Two sides of the story

    His Version

There was one sunset where we both went quiet. That doesn't happen often.

    Her Version

We forgot to take photos because we were too busy being there. Worth it.

  14. The Golden Hour Proposal at Georgetown Waterfront Park

As the sun dipped below the Potomac, he got down on one knee — and she said the only word that mattered.

    Two sides of the story

    His Version

The ring box felt heavier than my heart, in the best way. Golden hour was perfectly on schedule.

    Her Version

I knew something was up when he insisted on 'one more photo' by the water. I said yes before he finished asking.
